Tutorials: Enabling Java Content in Internet Explorer First, you should see if Java is enabled at all. Go to the Java Test site. If you see the text in a light blue rectangle, some version of Java is on. If not, Java is off for some reason or another. You should download the latest version of Java if you are having problem. For OS 8 and 9, this is version 2.2.6. This is a free download from Apple. Download and install MRJ 2.2.6 (instructions are provided on the download page). For OS X, you can get the latest Java update from Software Update. Launch System Preferences from the Apple menu, click Software Update, and then check for new updates (or just select Software Update from the Apple menu if you are using Panther). If there are any Java updates available, you'll see them there. Now, after restarting your computer, open up Internet Explorer and go to Edit > Preferences. Go to the Web Browser > Java panel. Check the box to "Enable Java", then click OK. You should now be set to view Java content. You can check your Java configuration at this site. Please note JavaScript must be enabled for this to work. |
