Tools Needed:

• Seat anchor w/plate (Honda part # 82410-SE3-C01)
• Razor blade
• Flashlight
• Thin nail ~ 2" long
• 8mm socket
• 12mm socket
• Small, thin, flat-head screwdriver

Difficulty Scale:  On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being very difficult) this is a 2 as you will be cutting into your head-liner.

Process:

With the assistance of my very special helper (shameless plug for my daughter), I began.

1.) Remove the plastic cover from the cargo area dome light by prying the over off using the flat-head screwdriver in the openings provided.

2.) With the 8mm socket, remove the 2 nuts holding the cargo area dome light in place. Disconnect the dome light.

3.) Using the flat-head screwdriver, remove the two gray, round fasteners holding the headliner. Take your time so as not damage the headliner

4.) Pull back the weather stripping along the roof at the hatch opening. This should pull back easily as there is no adhesive or connectors.

5) Pull down gently on the headliner and locate the bolt holes for the tether anchor. Be careful not to damage the headliner by pulling to hard or too far.

6.) Using a thin nail, locate the bolt hole and mark the corresponding location in the headliner. This may take a few tries.

7.) Once you are comfortable that you have aligned the bolt hole with a mark in the headliner, use the razor blade to cut an "X" large enough to fit the bolt from the anchor.

8.) Take apart the anchor (separate the bolt from the washers, the larger black spacer, and the tether attachment plate). Test fit bolt into the bolt hole through the headliner.

9.) Once you are comfortable that the bolt aligns correctly into the bolt hole, place the large black spacer in-between the bolt hole and the headliner.

10.) Place the washers back on the bolt, followed by the tether attachment plate and using the 12mm socket tighten the assembly.

11.) Repeat steps 6 through 10 on the other side if desired.

12.) Replace the headliner fasteners, cargo light and weather stripping. Your final product should look like this:
