The purpose of the Bluegrass Gospel Ministry is to spread the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ
to the community of people who gather together around the love of bluegrass music. Bluegrass music has generated a subculture
of people who travel from festival-to-festival all around the country. Gospel music is an integral part of bluegrass music,
and as such, has provided us the opportunity to spread the Gospel.
The other primary goal of this ministry is to offer
a time on Sunday morning to acknowledge God for those who are out of their home churches while attending bluegrass festivals.
We have become very close with many of these folks, who in turn, help us at the festivals by handing out books, taking pictures
and playing instruments. It is amazing that while they are a tremendous support to us they are also blessed mightily as they
serve with us in this ministry. God has often allowed us access to this group of people who often approach us with needs and
prayer requests that they don’t feel comfortable discussing with even their own pastors.
We truly believe that
the Bluegrass Gospel Ministry is a calling on our lives. When the Lord united us in marriage some years ago, we prayed that
He would use us in ministry. At that time, we did not know His plan for our union, but just as Isaiah answered the call, we
both shouted, Here I am Lord. Send me!
