Since the year, 2000, we have led a Sunday morning Gospel Sing and Jam
at bluegrass festivals. During the weekend, we encourage pickers and singers (Through MC announcements and a listing on the
program schedule) to come out to an open, everyone is invited, time of Gospel singing and jamming. We gather usually in front
of the stage or under the spectator tent, with all the pickers together and the crowd usually fills in the seats. The ideal
time for the sing is about one hour before the regular stage show or 10AM when there is not a Sunday show at the festival (We have had crowds
of up to 150 attend even when there is no Sunday stage show). We don’t
use the PA system; we don’t use the stage. We provide a free songbook which has 12 bluegrass gospel songs in it,
words and chords. These are provided to the attendees free of charge. Over the years we have developed close friendships with
promoters, musicians, and fans, who have on occasion cited the “Bluegrass Gospel Sing and Jam” as their favorite
part of the festival, for us a humbling indication that God is speaking to the bluegrass community through us.
