Well, needless to say, I was very pleased with last nite's West Wing. Two hours is a long time for an episode though, but it was good throughout, except Amy wasn't on, and I wanted some of that Feminazi good vibrations that she gives off on the show.
Argh! The University has sanctioned my bandwidth to that of a dial-up or worse. I can imagine it takes you a while to load this page because my server speed is probably cut too. I'm being punished because I let Kazaa run overnight, and I shared a ton of files, and UWEC ain't too hot on that kind of thing. I think most speed will be restored soon enough, but until then I have to surf the internet down in the lab :(.
I have to meet with Peterson today about the classes I'm going to take @ Lancaster, this should be fun.

Ugh, still feel sick and I really don't feel like finishing the Amelie review, but I will because I said I would. I'll do it after the photography lecture. It is supposed to be 2 hours long, but Hanson said he's never given a two hour lecture in his life. It's usually an hour long, sometimes less.
I need to remember the staff meeting tonight, so I have to tape 7th Heaven, I just got sucked right back in. Smallville tomorrow night, should be pretty good. And the West Wing will be back in 2 days! It's a two hour episode, I'm so excited! I can't believe Rizzo won two Emmys last night, I don't like her that much. I think Donna should have won, or Amy, oh well. Glad the show won again, and that CJ won again, 3 in a row is feat.
Well, even the mighty have to shower before class, so hopefully I'll write more later, and I always say that and never do. Just like I say to the voters of St. Paul that I'm a Democrat, and when they elect me I change my mind. Hmm.

Another great weekend in progress, I just love sitting around doing nothing. I found out that with my meal plan that I can use up the remaining meals that I haven't used for the week consecutively, meaning that since after lunch today I still have 4 meals left that I can trade each of them in for $2.90 worth of candy and pop, or go through the cafeteria 4 times, take a guess which I'll choose.
Ushered for Mulholland Dr. last nite, I really enjoyed it this time, I finally get everything that is happening! The picture below is to remind me that I have to write a review for Amelie before Monday, so that's one thing I have to do, as well as this stupid assignment for Intro to PoliAnal.

Yay, I finally have links up and working for the site. This is a project that is looking less and less appealing to me, but I'm sure as time goes on I'll feel better about it. The film meeting is tonight and we get to watch Cinema Paradiso or something like that, sounds good, I can't wait.
Watched Donnie Darko last night, the movie just blew my mind it was so good. It has that guy from October Sky, he also had a smaller part in Lovely and Amazing (he played a 17 year old kid who fornicated with one blazin Catherine Keener). Darko is also the only movie besides Ghost where I actually like Patrick Swayze (I liked him in Ghost because he dies and is made to suffer through most of the movie). Darko is almost as good as Fight Club, it is kind of a mix between Virgin Suicides, Ghost World and Fight Club, if that makes any sense. The chick in this was also in The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, another movie that just blew my frickin mind.
Well, I have about 3 hours until this meeting, I could do homework... OR I could watch like 4 episodes of TWW, which is back ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!! Guess which I'm gonna do.
16-Sept 2002 Monday 4:47 PM
I know, I know, it has been a few days, but there are two reason why I didn't write anything, the first is because nothing much happened and the second is because I felt and still feel rather sick. My tummy hurts... :( I got some Maalox today, and have been taking Zantak, so hopefully all will be better soon.
The first meeting for my new job is tonight, and I'm very excited, almost as excited as I was to see Morms on campus on their bikes talking to some girls.
Ugh, why is it that I never feel like writing anymore? I'll do something later, I promise.
13-Sept 2002 Friday 10:29 AM
I finally got a job on campus! Not that I had been looking very hard, but I have a job and it isn't washing dishes or cleaning out the bathrooms! I'm gonna be a peer health educator and I start on Monday. It looks like a sweet gig and the people there are very cool. The Leprechaun also applied, I hope he didn't get it, I don't know if I could keep from killing myself if he worked there.
I have to go to class now, and yes, I know, I have to write more in this damn thing, but I never seem to have the time or the discipline to sit down and do it.

Peterson had an interesting theory in class today, he said that after Sept. 11th that more democrats were flying flags than republicans because republicans historically love the USA and Democrats have to "prove" it. I just saw the funniest commercial with John Glenn and Bob Dole, it's for that new Freedom force or something.

Wow, this is hard to adjust to having to watch Seinfeld on Fox, or is it UPN? I'm all backwards on this thing.
08-Sept 2002 Sunday 5:38 AM
Just finished my Show Me Love review, you can check it out now here. I would write more now, but I have to get down to Davies to usher American History X (read review for AHX here).
08-Sept 2002 Sunday 3:34 AM
Yeah, I know, I'm up rather late, but I can't sleep! I just put in Alien Resurrection. I remember that the guy who directed it also directed Amelie, so don't knock it until you've seen it. Well, I haven't seen it in a few years, and I don't remember much of it.
I just downloaded and installed the final service pack for Windows XP, this is the first one, and hopefully it will work out.
God, I can't believe that they made a movie with Howie Long - Firestorm. I won't be seeing that.
Well, I'm gonna fall asleep to this movie, so I'll write more later.
07-Sept 2002 Saturday 2:33 PM
I watched one of the coolest movies I have ever seen last night, Boondock Saints. It just blew me away, and I suggest that you see it if you like movies like Lock, Stock and Pulp Fiction.
Damn, can't write much now, spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Phil discussing Clinton's great presidency and shortcomings. I gotta leave now to see City By The Sea, with DeNiro and McDormand. I'll write about it after I see it.
06-Sept 2002 Friday 6:13 PM
Just finished watching Show Me Love on DVD to review for the Spectator. The movie is actually called Fucking Åmål, but it was explained to me that the word "fucking" is as mild as "stupid" in Swedish, so it's like saying Stupid Eau Claire. I really doubt that the Spectator will actually publish the real title. I'm gonna try for it anyway.
I think that my first review in the Spectator for AHX turned out well, so I'll post it here if you haven't seen it yet. Hopefully I can review most of the movies shown this semester, I know I promised myself to write all of the reviews for the films during summer break, but come on, you can't expect me to work ahead on something like that.
Decided to place select songs on my site to download. Today it is the song T.B. Sheets by Van Morrison. It was recorded while his girlfriend that he was living with had tuberculosis and so the title and lyrics are very disgusting, but it is a really good song. This is from his pre-Moondance sessions. Take a listen.
I was pissed today, they didn't have the Stib in at the Davies Desk today. This is the second day in a row that they don't have it. They have the stupid Pioneer Press, but if I wanted to read crap I'd read past entries in my Blog. Nuff Said.
Hopefully the first weekend here will be relaxing and exciting.
06-Sept 2002 Friday 1:33 AM
Did the casino night tonight, it was so-so. Not nearly as fun as last year, but I met some cool people. I won a Sacred Heart Sweatshirt, and some other crap, nothing worth my time, but I did have fun and didn't lose any money (if only MLC was that way).
I applied for a position as a Peer Health Educator or something online. I figure any job would be good, and it doesn't involve washing dishes or working with the mouth-breathers at Sodexho. Lord knows what I'm going to do, hopefully it'll work out.
Downloaded Never Been To Spain again, this song blows me away. It isn't a masterpiece or anything, but it sounds really good. I like both the famous Three Dog Night version, but there's also appeal to the Elvis version. Argh! Why does my stupid school have to limit the illegal downloading and sharing of good music and movies??? I don't see the descendants of Renoir demanding that everybody who has a copy of one of his paintings on their computer buy an original, although, wouldn't that be funny? This is why I don't really see music as an art any more, it's all about money and not about creating anymore. You don't see me charging for this drivel, but wait until I do find a way to make money off of it and then somebody creates sarcast-o-net or something like that. Eh, never mind.
I guess I can get to bed now to go to class tomorrow since this society puts so much emphasis on learning. I still wonder why I continue to put myself through school for years and years. It's not like I can take this knowledge with me. What, you think that when you die your brain doesn't rot with the rest of your body? Really makes you wonder about what the the afterlife will bring, because you can be sure the rest of you and your brain will be in a box in the ground, or in a pot somewhere, or blowin in the wind, or whatever. Now - To Bed!

Tried to help DD with his computer, good lord it is loaded with shit. He has 14 icons in his tray!!! It took like 5 minutes to boot. He also had his computer on and running when he had the case off and he was reaching his hand in there to unplug something from his NIC! Needless to say there are like 45 things wrong with his computer, the least of which is that he cannot connect to the internet/network. I told him to call the room connectivity services, I have no idea. I guess he lives alone, roomie never showed up I guess.
Went to Calc today, I think I understand most of it, but we are just getting started and I have a feeling it is going to get harder as we go. Also had CJ222 lab today, all we did was take a non-graded pretest which I could have taken here in the room.
Went to the cafeteria down campus for lunch, it was ok. I ended up only eating macaroni and cheese because the wrap that I picked up had something like coleslaw in the middle. Ugh, I know, I know, my people eat coleslaw, but I cannot stand it!
I have to do two term papers this semester I think, one for each of my PoliSci classes, so I'm going to start on one soon. Damn, I still have to write another one for my internship. I'll do one about McGaa and that whole mess, maybe one about the US not joining the ICC and the third has to be statistical, like why do dumb people elect dumb people (i.e. Shrubby). I have a feeling that Intro to PoliAnal (Political Analysis) is going to be my hardest class, followed by Reid's Calc.
I guess I didn't really talk about the Franken event, and the picture below. Yeah, so he did a fundraiser for PDW and I helped out giving people their nametags. I could have just come as a guest since I saved the campaign like $500 to fly him in, first class too! It was a lot of fun, and if you can see the nametag in my hand with that pen, he signed that and I got the Senator to sign it as well, that's the best thing I got from the whole internship.

I'm really excited about Intro to World Politics, my prof, Stephen Hill, is actually very interesting and he is from Northern Ireland, and it'll be an eye-opening experience.

Wow, I’m writing my first remote entry. I’m down in the old library’s computer lab because I’m too lazy to climb up the hill to only come back down two hours later. Second day of classes are so-far-so-good and Peterson smokes more than even Howser at WFS. Had Sodexho for lunch, it wasn’t that great, but it was food and it wasn’t Taco Bell, thank God. There was some guy from Philadelphia pushing the burgers there, getting people excited and energized about the new Sodexho products. Something about building up the brand, I’m sure it works, but it was annoying as hell.
Ran into Sara, we had lunch on the lawn and Andrew walked by, it is a pretty nice day. I haven’t eaten outside in quite some time. Perhaps the last time was at DeLaSalle during lunch. This would have to be before some students (not naming names… yet) pushed over the statue of St. John the Baptist De La Salle on the lawn where we ate. I think they stopped letting students outside to eat after that. MD reminds me so much of Bob, the manager at Denny’s. Gosh I miss Bob, he was quite the kidder.
I bought a copy of the Strib from the information desk today and the Variety section was missing!!! As much as I enjoy reading Doonesbury and the Boondocks on-line, I’d much rather see it in print. Hopefully tomorrow’s will have it, cause I gotta have my Lileks. Ooh, and the Spectator comes out tomorrow, hopefully carrying my review of American History X.
And a happy birthday to PAUL HARVEY! Old guy is 84 today!

Finally! Got the web server up, it is nearly impossible to figure out IIS. I just blindly changed a lot of settings, and eventually it all worked out. Now that it's hosted, I can work more on writing stuff in it, but I'll have to get started after class. Got News Reporting and Writing today with Dorsher, then two polisci classes, which should be fun. I just want the record to reflect that I actually did homework last night for math, even though it was very easy and I intended to blow it off. I still have to finish the layout, but otherwise all is well with the site. Well, that's all for now - off to the second day of classes!
