Miata mechanical speedometer and cable are replaced with a reed switch speed sensor from Jags That Run. The sensor is designed to operate a cable and provide a pulse to the ecm. I capped the cable connection side with an ESD cap for electronics connectors and used the pulse to drive a cyberdyne digital speedometer modified to fit inside the miata cluster. A hole in the acrylic cover of the instrument panel is required for the speedometer control stem to protrude.

The speedo has an odometer which retains mileage even if the speedo is removed. The calibration requires no additional equipment or replacement of vss gears in the transmission.

This eliminates the failure prone miata speedometer cable.

Once everything works, wiring will be covered. GM ecm doesn't operate a can solenoid.
