You've stumbled upon the website of Michele Lacina--better known as Michele, the old crone in South Jersey. I hope to also
write under the name of M.H. Joseph. Did you know that a 'crone' is not a hag, but a woman of wisdom? For more interesting
tidbits of information, please come in and learn more about me. Don't forget to check my Work In Progress page if you are
prone to romance & mystery. Check my Wit and Wisdom page for my latest blog.
As I look out my office window, I reflect on the strange turns the highway of life creates. I never envisioned myself as a
writer, but after caring for my mother, father, and uncle, through their final illnesses, God decided to use my love of reading
to prod me into a career U-turn. I began this new venture by sending a piece of fan fiction to the website of: The Really
Unofficial Nanny Page web site. People liked my story. E-mails asking me if I'd ever written a book started me thinking seriously
of attempting such a project. While editors and agents rejected my first effort entitled: Till the Fat Lady Sings, I continue
to pursue publication.
Each time I see my name in print I feel honored. I've been published in Country
Woman magazine, The Girls' Book of Friendship, The Girls' Book of Success, New Jersey LifeStyles magazine, frequent columns
in the Philadelphia Inquirer, and now CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL IN MENOPAUSE. So, while my first novel sits beneath my bed,
I continue to try to learn my craft. Right now, I'm hard at work on a Christian cozy mystery.
June 2007 UPDATE-I
am thrilled to announce my inclusion in: CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL IN MENOPAUSE. My submission is found on page 117.
Let's
face it ladies, Mother Nature can only get us down if we let her. I, for one, have no intention of allowing that old girl
the last laugh. This is a perfect gift for those beginning, in, or remembering that certain time of life when chin hairs,
night sweats, and gray cells begin to play havoc. This book is available at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Borders, and most
local bookstores.
Look for my article in: New Jersey LifeStyles magazine Summer Shore edition!
UPDATE:
The booksigning in Buffalo, New York for the Father's Day launch of Our Fathers Who Art In Heaven was a rousing success! What's
more, we had a group of dedicated people who donated time to stress the importance of organ donation. Please think about giving
this gift of life. God knows the blessing that may be brought about by tragedy. Remember, He can work everything to good,
but sometimes He can use a little 'earthly' help. For more info go to: http://www.murak.blogs.com/ourfatherswhoartinheaven
