Moses establishes a continuum between art and life and between what happens when he is painting and what happens while he is painting. By locating the painting in the world, Moses questions the aesthetic notion that art holds a central or privileged place in society. If anything is central, it is change and process, inescapable conditions that Moses's paintings boldly embody as well as eloquently articulate.
