Taukin, 1991 silkscreen print, edition 125 19 1/4" x 24" Peter Lodato emerged from the California light-space phenomenon at the end of the 1960's. His work during the last twenty years has been largely about the relationship of light to surface. He has explored the relationship of these elements through installations in a room (or corner of a room) and in paintings of a similar situation. The installations have been about actual light while the paintings have been a depiction of light or illumination.
