CADET PROGRAM BENEFITS DEVELOPMENT
The CAP Cadet Program, for young people ages
12 to 21, provides you the opportunity to develop leadership skills
through your love of aviation. You will progress through a 15-step program
with exciting aviation and aerospace activities occurring on both a local
and national level.
Leadership is very essential to the future, its development becomes the mission of the Cadet Program. Leadership development is accomplished by a program structured in four specific phases:
Phase I -- Curry Award
Phase II -- Mitchell Award
Phase III -- Earhart Award
Phase IV -- Spaatz Award
Each of the four phases requires one or more major acheivements to meet its completion requirements. Fifteen achievements are needed to complete all Cadet Program requirements.
The path toward program completion provides study and experiences in four curricular factors:
Aerospace Education
Leadership Laboratory
Moral Leadership
Physical Fitness
Aerospace Education orients the young cadet to the essential ingredients of the aerospace age in which he/she lives. It develops an understanding of flight; of aircraft and space vehicle power plants; of navigation, weather, and air traffic control; and the economic opportunities and impact of the aerospace age.
Leadership Laboratory exposes a young man and young woman to opportunities to lead and direct his/her fellow cadets, and to learn basic administration and management.
Moral Leadership speaks for itself.
Physical Fitness primarily the U.S.Air Force Aerobics Physical Fitness Program scaled down to the cadet's age group -- completes the program.
Program completion makes the cadet eligible to advance in rank and for additional special activities. Completion of each phase culminates in receipt of an award ribbon and certificate.

WANTED: ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
Support the Civil Air Patrol
HELP US FLY MISSIONS FOR AMERICA
The Civil Air Patrol has a rich, proud history dating back to the beginning of World War II. For more than 50 years, the dedicated citizen volunteers of Civil Air Patrol have unselfishly carried out their missions for America: Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Programs.
To continue to serve America in times of disaster and emergency, to provide good role models for young people through our Cadet Programs, and to participate in the war against drugs, we need the financial support of people like you who share our love of aviation and this great country.
Realizing many people, like you, want to make a difference in their community, but due to busy schedules or other commitments just cannot volunteer time, we have developed our Associate Membership category. Joining CAP as an Associate Member gives you a way to support CAP volunteers through your financial contribution. Your $23.50 membership fee could keep a CAP aircraft in the sky for 30 more minutes -- perhaps long enough to find a lost child.
Rest assured your membership dues are helping us continue a long tradition of service to your community and your country. We welcome your participation and solicit your support.
