For sale 1973 Mercury Montego GT VIN 3H16Q638726. It does not run. Has never been wrecked but the rear quarter panels rusted out. Not the original engine, but I know the original owner who has access to it. All other parts appear to be original. I can send pictures. The car is in east TN. 1973 Mercury Montego MX Broughham: 351W - 2V. White with gold interior. Interior is the upgrade with cloth inserts. 58,000 original mies with original paint that still shines up pretty nice (normal chips/scratches for 34 yr old car). PW, PB, PS, Tilt, AM/FM Stereo. Factory upgrade "Crown" vinyl top (white). Car runs and drive like new. Car was backed into by neighbor so left fender and door need replaced (I have the rust-free parts that are included in price). I recently purchased a 73 Merc fromsome guy here in Tucson, AZ. and he said it had a Cobra Jet 351 engine. I bought it hoping it did,and it did. The VIN said it is a Cobra Jet car. He said he has had the car for 15 years and its all there. It has the ram air hood and a C-6 trans, and a 3.25 9inch rear end. The downfall is, I am a salvage yard, and I crush the cars after a while. The motot I won't because I know it is valuable.But the car will go away. Bucket seat car. Shifter, tach, etc..... My name is Michael L. Browning II. I aquired a 1972 Mercury Montego GT for my 16th birthday. I am now 19 and have done nothing with it. I now realize I do not have the time or know how to work on it and do not want to see a beautiful car go to waste. It needs to be restored but is in very good shape with minimal rust. I do not know alot about the car but i do know it has a 351 engine. I am intrested in selling it for $1,000.00. don’t have a Montego GT but we have a 1972 Montego MX Brougham in
beautiful original condition with only 54,000 miles on it.
Unfortunately a few days ago we had a mishap involving a horse which backed
into the right hand door breaking off the mirror which in turn smashed
the window in the door and caused some not too serious panel damage. Our
problem is to locate a replacement door window either new if available
or a good used one (tinted). Could you or one of your club members possibly
help us? Any information would be very much appreciated. We may be contacted
