DISCLAIMER


So, you read my Ban Gray Marriage site, and you still had some questions.  Well, for starters, let's get this out of the way:  IT IS A POLITICAL SATIRE.  I am not actually advocating for any of the anti-seniors positions taken in the piece.  They are being used to poke fun at a political viewpoint I disagree with, and that I am satirizing.  Get it?  In case you're living under a rock, this Gray Marriage ban is intended to satirize the Constitutional ban of same-sex marriages proposed by President Bush and other right-wing conservative nutcases.  In fact, some of the text I use was borrowed directly from conservative arguments I've read against gay marriage.  The entire concept here was to take these wacked out ideas to their logical absurd conclusion.  The political movement to ban gay marriage is about denying civil rights to a segment of our population, and legislating morality.  Their claims that this "defense of marriage" is an earnest attempt to protect anyone is as much a joke as the Gray Marriage arguments I make here.

There were many sites that informed the look and attitude I adopted for my Ban Gray Marriage campaign.  First and foremost, big ups to godhatesshrimp.com , a great parody of anti-gay conservatives that was a major inspiration for this idea.  Also, an affiliated web site provided some of the images that I've adopted - churchsigngenerator.com .  They are a fun site, where you too can make ridiculous church signs that are guaranteed to offend (and candy hearts too!).  Also instrumental in the creation of my Gray Marriage site was the "Twelve Reasons Gay Marriage Will Ruin Society" , an anonymous list circulated by email that I thought was clever enough to expand upon.  I'd also like to thank "The Life of Brian" by Monty Python, a movie Mr. George Harrison had a hand in making - that film is probably the reason I ever dreamed of making my own Temple of Absurdity, and its influence contributes to all the religious satire that goes on around here.

Support the campaign of the candidate who might defeat George W. Bush, and take the White House back from the religious zealots:   John Kerry!
