Survivor,
Advocate & Educator
AKA, the
“Mold Goddess”
Got Mold? Meet
Diana Meier and Dawn Meier (Diana is on the right.) The twins are famous for being the tallest twins in entertainment at 6’ 2.”
Together they have appeared in over 12 national TV shows and
a Disney movie. Now they are
known for their public awareness campaign on toxic mold. They both became
temporarily disabled from something they couldn’t even see… toxic mold!
You know that stuff that made Ed McMahon and Erin Brockovich
ill. The tall twins
tale began in Santa Monica, California,
where they lived two doors down from each other.
They were chronically ill for close to 3 years until the gasman
told Diana that toxic mold was the cause of their health problems.
Once
Diana was in a safe apartment and started to heal, she developed a website
called, MoldGoddess.com,
to help Dawn (because she was still sick) and others. The website receives at least 1,500 hits per
month. In fact, the County of Los Angeles refers mold victims to the
website regularly. The mold crusaders
were flown to Sacramento to testify on the Toxic Mold
Protection Act, which became law, January 2002. In Los Angeles, you can periodically catch
the twins as “The Mold Goddesses,” on the TV show, “Changes,” on Ch.
36. In October 2003, the twins will be featured
in the book called, “IDENTICAL,” which includes an essay on their story. See the twins on a national (2.5
minute) special news report on toxic mold, produced by
Med Star under Meier Media.
Diana
has taken a leading role with the CEFCA support group as an Environmental
Health Advisor and was awarded the 2001 Champion Award by the CFIDS
Support Network of America for her work with people suffering from chronic
immune disorders. In 2002, Diana also earned the esteemed credential
as CMR (Certified Mold Remediator) through the IAQA and has consulted
for the American Lung Association and several mold remediation companies.
Mold-wise, Diana has been a guest speaker throughout the Los Angeles region and Nevada. Her latest talk is entitled, “What You Need
to Know About Toxic Mold.”
Diana
is an actress and has appeared in over 250 television shows, such as
"Who's the Boss." Currently, she has a re-occurring role on Lifetime
TV’s “Strong
Medicine,” as Detective Yarborough.
In the pre-mold days, many called her the “Sports Goddess,” for
her pioneering sports efforts as a professional basketball player, motivational
speaker and host/producer for her own radio and TV shows.
Mission Statement
Overcoming the health and financial
obstacles from toxic mold has been the hardest thing we’ve ever been
though in our entire lives emotionally and physically. We are so blessed to have recovered. People everywhere are still suffering. Mold Goddess on a daily basis, points people in the right direction. Our goal is to raise awareness of indoor air
quality issues in buildings via the website and speaking engagements. More needs to be done! We need financial assistance to fund our educational
campaign and referral service. For
instance, we’d like to increase the number of presentations throughout
the region (especially to school children, the disadvantaged and seniors)
and to assist more mold victims to find the many services they need.
Mold Goddess empowers mold victims by giving them a better understanding
of how to get the right help the first time.
Please contact us immediately if you can donate your time or
resources towards our important cause.
