One of the things I really miss about California is the lack of or at least the minimal amount of smoke at bars and restaurants. I went to a place called "Mario's" tonight with a couple friends and now I reek of smoke. I'm also coughing a lot, which doesn't feel good. However, the wine was decent - a merlot/cabernet mix from Australia ("Black Opal"). It was nice to chill out and chat over a drink.

My news: I'm now living in Setauket, New York, attending SUNY Stony Brook. That's on Long Island (or is it Lon Guyland?). I'll eventually get my DMA in Harpsichord. It's quite different here compared to Berkeley, and especially regarding the 8-5 day job aspect of my life there. Of course, this is much more satisfying, doing what I love. I'm heaps poorer, but happier spiritually and artistically. I do miss Berkeley, desperately. This is a funny place to be. More later.
