Houston Chapter, Order of DeMolay returned from the 2004 Frank Marshall Championship Ritual Tournament with both the Initiatory and DeMolay Degree Championship Banners.  Houston Chapter was able to compete in the Championship category as a result of their winning the Initiatory and DeMolay Degrees at the 2003 Texas DeMolay Conclave.  Twenty-one chapters from six states competed at the Tournament held in Arlington Texas, March 26-28, 2004.  The motto of the Tournament is “Where the elite meet to compete.”

In addition to winning the Degree Championships, State Illustrious Knight Commander Jeffrey Holder won medals for being the Best Master Councilor in the Initiatory Degree and Best Installing Officer.  Kristopher Rice won the Ceremony of Light – Senior Division and Best Junior Inquisitor.  In individual competitions, Aaron Saldana won Best First Preceptor, Michael Saldana won Best Fourth Preceptor, and with a perfect score, Arthur Buchanan won Best Seventh Preceptor.  Eddie Peebles won Best Senior Deacon in the Initiatory Degree with a perfect score.  P. J. Hanke scored first in the Magnificent Seven – Junior Division.

Houston Chapter has placed first place in the DeMolay Degree at the last three DeMolay State Conclaves.  As a result, the Chapter has performed the DeMolay Degree at the request of the Grand Master at the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Grand Lodge sessions in Waco.
