
What is Lure Coursing ?
Lure Coursing in the United States, began in California back in 1972. It's original purpose was to help the dogs(pure bred sighthounds) stay in shape until the next Open Field Coursing season, which usually is the end of October-mid February. The organization of people that began this soon became the American Sighthound Field Association (also known as ASFA). In 1990, the American Kennel Club (AKC) adopted lure coursing finally following in ASFA's footsteps.
