Money Train (95)

4/17/97

Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson make a good buddy combo. Their interaction is funny and it seems like they really like each other. It would have been more enjoyable to watch them talk through the whole film, because the plot is preposperous. They're New York City subway cops in this one. Apparently Snipes' mother took in orphan Harrelson so their brothers of a sort. Snipes is smooth and handsome, Harrelson is a screw-up and a gambler. They fight over the new woman on the force, played by Jennifer Lopez who is a goddess. There really isn't a plot to speak of. Harrelson owes a gambling debt and he thinks robbing the 'money train', the train that picks up the day's subway receipts, is his ticket to freedom. There is gunplay and explosions and the inevitable runaway train. Turn off your brain before turning this one on.
