Liar Liar (97)

3/28/97

Jim Carrey is very funny. It's not really intellectual humor, it's almost always a physical humor, the way he can actually change shape before your eyes. He did that splendidly in this movie. This movie's plot could fit on a matchbook cover. Son's wish for his attorney father to tell truth for 24 hours comes true. It's funny to see him try and lie during his 'curse', for about the first 20 minutes. After that, a little Carrey goes a long way. This may be the official antidote for all the Oscar caliber films that we've been forced to rush and see before the big awards show.
