We're very excited about the release of this project. It has been a long time coming. Here are the liner notes for "Stay in the Truck"

The Cowtippers, as the name implies, are a group of fun-loving bluegrass musicians who love to play, sing & entertain. What you don't know from their name, is the other side of these guys; they take what they do quite seriously. When you listen to this CD, you'll hear what we mean; from the strong rhythm of the music background & the detailed instrumental breaks to the tight vocal harmonies. With Charlie Rees on Banjo, Guitar & Mandolin, Mike Robinson on Guitar, Rick Ottman on Bass & Dusty Clampitt on Fiddle, each member of the band also handles a share of the vocals.

The Cowtippers come on strong with some traditional bluegrass tunes ~"Blue Ridge Cabin Home" & "Redwood Hill"~ as well as gospel favorites such as "On the Sea of Life" & "Power In The Blood". The one original tune ~penned by Mike Robinson~ is bound to become a bluegrass standard, "How Can I Miss You If You Won’t Go Away?".

Charlie Rees performs and recorded this project using a Caouette banjo. We are very proud to add Charlie to the family, joining the likes of Gary Skillings, Jake Jenkins & Abe Spear. In keeping with their stage performances, this project was recorded using a single microphone mixed together with no overdubbing.

This recording ~ originally going to be titled "Rotating The Herd" ~ actually was begun over 5 years ago at a time when they felt they could literally set down the necessary takes while someone opted to "Stay In The Truck". How wrong they were! And lucky for us because this was worth waiting for. Enjoy!
