1.15.06 GO TO LOSTTEAPOT.COM RIGHT NOW
1.12.06 Hi. Long time no see, how've you been? I can't say anything truly noteworthy has happened since I wrote here last, other than that I am learning to cross stitch. I spent all my christmas money on three movies, 4 books, and the Sims2. I am in dire need of food, so I'll just leave you with this quick question:
1.2.06 I am having way too much fun drawing this next page of Pointedly Foolish. If you guys were eagerly waiting for some action, your dreams are about to come true. As for New Years Eve at Eli's, some of our more memorable conversations made use of puns (especially involving the word 'vibrator'). We almost missed the countdown because we were so engrossed in Firefly. Sarah said, "What time is it anyways?" and Eli checked the kitchen clock which said it was after midnight, so we did a 10-1 countdown and cheered. Then we turned on the TV and realized we hadn't missed the Ball Drop in NYC so we got to toast again. I taught Eli how to knit. I look forward to seeing what she makes because her style is.... unique. This will make you crazy (turn your volume low).
12.31.05 Happy New Years Eve! I'm so excited, Sarah and I are driving to Winston Salem this afternoon to ring in the new year with Eli. She was sadly unable to hang out with us before Christmas because she was ill, but now Sarah and I get to visit Eli in her natural environment (frightening as that may sound). I spent the week following Christmas at my Mom's house because my sister was in town. I got THREE teapots for Christmas!! THREE!!! Does my family know me well, or what. I got a movie, some books, and a new hoodie as well. My dad gave me a fancy glass pen. I'll have draw something for you using it. It is beautiful. Of course there was more to it that that... Sarah gave me a set of sushi erasers and a book of fashion drawings by Andy Warhol. Only 15 minutes ETD, I'd better make sure I have everything packed for tonight.
12.24.05 Happy Christmas Eve to those of you who celebrate it, Happy Saturday to those who don't. My sister and her husband (la, how droll that sounds) flew in last night and they're staying until Wednesday! YAY! This morning I helped wrap and ribbon all of Katy's presents because she hates to wrap. I love wrapping presents and making bows and whatnot, so I always volunteer. The only thing better than wrapping a present is getting to open it ^_-.
12.22.05 FINALLY! One entire day before it was imperative I finish, ALL of my knitted gifts are done! Now, I have to wrap them.
12.16.05 There is a dead pig in my backyard. My father is hosting a Holiday party for his office tomorrow and it is to be a pig picking. This evening they delivered the whole raw pig carcass including head, thankfully I was not home. But the idea that a dead pig is in a barbecue grill in my backyard is a concept entirely revolting to me. Even if I did still eat pork, I can't imagine that leaving a whole raw pig outside overnight before cooking it is a good idea. I mean, what about any wild dogs that might be around? Racooons? Bacteria? Granted, it is going to be in the 30s tonight... but how is that possibly sanitary? Bleh. I am going to try not to think about it any more because if I do, I may make myself queasy.
12.15.05 Is it really only just now 5:00? Why does it feel so much later? Today was a good day, I think. I had fun helping out these two women at work today. They were looking for supplies to make their own snow globes, how awesome is that? Little figurines like you find with train sets and some plastic folliage, glue inside an empty jar lid, add a tablespoon of glitter and fill with water. Voila! Home made snow globe. I wonder if I have any empty jars.
12.14.05 I went to Raleigh last night, WOO! Met Jenn for dinner (how long has it been since I last tasted Baja Burrito, too long indeed) which was followed by a couple of hours of pool at Champions. We ended up making friends with a group of guys who were also there. This may have to become a weekly thing, it was so much fun. Trivia tonight was also fun, though we did not score very highly. We did finish in the top 10, though, which must be worth something. Also, three cheers for being nerdy and having a 15 minute discussion about knitting in a bar. Speaking of knitting, my right pinky finger keeps cramping up from all this knitting i've been doing. Why it is only that finger in particular I won't venture to guess. In other news, if anyone has Google Talk, I want to try it out so message me or something, i'm tophile at gmail dot com. Good Night.
12.10.05 A new concept was introduced to me last night, fried grits. Apparently, you cook the grits and then stick them in the fridge until they congeal somewhat, batter them with egg, and then fry. So, three guesses what i'm going to attempt today... I have completed two of my knitting projects. One of them I started on Thursday and finished yesterday. WOO! I have been very slack this week about drawing. I haven't worked on the next page of Pointedly Foolish at all. So, that's what I have to do today instead of knitting.
12.08.05 My eyelid is twitching. It has been twitching off an on for about a week now. IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!! If a twitch is nervous or stress related, won't it simply add to the person's current stress by annoying them to the point of wanting to gouge their eyes out to make it stop? Is that really a helpful reaction to stress? No. Do you hear that, eyelid? Stop twitching or it'll only get worse. GAAH!!! There it goes again! The oddest thing in the world is looking in the mirror and having your reflection wink at you, without you having to wink at all.
12.07.05 Well, that didn't take as long as I expected. TADAAA!!!! Here's my new layout (old layout here or on the archives page). Do you like it? I just really wanted another pretty-boy to stare at for a couple of months. I need to get my own domain and real hosting so that I can use something like MovableType. That way I don't have to manually enter the date and time, etc. for every entry. And then I'd also be able to change the layout without making you click a link to see what I'd written previously. I'd like to get back into the rhythm of making a new layout every month, to practice my HTML and web design. Is that too much to ask of my poor aging computer? Maybe. I'm going to start saving up money to buy a new one. A computer with a really good processor. Any suggestions? Kelsea may have found me a cat. She called me this evening, she'd gone to the SPCA in Raleigh to meet a dog she is considering adopting and ended up meeting a playful black and grey furball. I'd told her I was looking for a cat and when she saw this one she called to tell me I had to come meet it. So, guess what i'm doing this weekend. I may be adopting a cat! As long as it is a purring, playful attention seeker I think we'll get along just fine. It's already December and I haven't finished any of my holiday present projects... I need to get knitting!
