truffenyi

General:
Truffenyi - god of mortal man, god of mercy and forgiveness, his blessings are invaluable in resurrections and in the granting of health, stamina, strength and magical power, he is like an indulgent father to the inhabitants of Elanthia. He can be stern as well, and thus is also a difficult master to serve. Chief deity of humans and Halflings; his emblem is the ox.

Alamhif - the kind father, Alamhif is sometimes mistaken for Divyaush, but the two are not the same. Alamhif is more the stern guidance that is the role of fatherhood, while Divyaush is the indulgent grandfather. Alamhif loves children and will take pains to pay them especial care if he perceives they are in danger or being misled/mistreated. It is him -- along with Berengaria -- who created the bridge between death and life that allows mortals to reach through Urrem'tier's barrier to bring those who have fallen back to life. His symbol is the magpie.

Huldah - trickster, imp, bedeviler, fouler up of best laid plans, Huldah's schemes can often appear very appealing at first, but quickly sour. Reasoning with him is dangerous, and few have ever gotten out of a deal with him ahead. He despises mortals, and delights in seeing that which is pure become despoiled, especially by some act of his. Huldah can also cause terrible storms that resembles lightning storms, but are composed of magic instead of electricity. His emblem is the weasel.

  • Alamhif, Temple of Light, Shard
[Temple of Light, Alcove of Alamhif]
Colorful frescos of happy children bolster the cheerful tone of this alcove. Laughing and shrieking joyfully, children of all races are pictured running and playing. Overlooking their antics is an old man with a kind face holding an injured magpie gently in his hands. A low table holding a bowl filled with peppermints and taffy rests against one wall and brightly-colored cushions are provided for sitting upon. You also see a redwood arch.
      Obvious exits: none.

In the candy bowl you see a piece of peppermint and a piece of taffy. The arch is slightly scuffed and covered with sticky fingerprints near the bottom.

  • Huldah, Temple of Darkness, Shard
      [Temple of Darkness, Huldah's Alcove]
The air is filled with a static feel, like a thunderstorm waiting to burst. Veins of dark blue lapis shoot through the floor and walls, flashing like streaks of lightning. The statue of Huldah that stands here is shaped from solid iron and plated in copper that is gradually growing greenish with age.
      Obvious exits: north.

look statue -- The eyes of the statue flicker and gleam, as if caught in an eerie thunderstorm. Dark green from lack of polish, the statue looks somehow...right in its tarnished state.

  • Huldah, Knife Clan
      [Knife Clan, Shrine]
The dim light from a few flickering torches is not enough to cut through the gloom that pervades this cramped alcove. The cold stone walls seem to close in on all sides. Against the far wall leans a carved granite statue of a fierce weasel, its small size oddly out of place among the giant Gor'Togs that inhabit these caves.
      Obvious exits: south.

look statue -- The weasel, symbol of Huldah, is rearing back on its hind legs. With claws and teeth exposed it is quite menacing despite its relatively small size.

  • [Wyvern Mountain, Cavern]
A mural on the wall is bordered by statues of a human and Halfling child. The mural depicts a human man in the prime of life, full of health and vigor, watching over a green field in which children play. Though an indulgent amusement lights his eyes, something about the set of his jaw indicates that his indulgence is tempered with steel. An ox stands by his side, calmly chewing the grass of the field. You also see a white arch and a black arch.
      Obvious exits: none.

look mural -- Despite the dampness of the caves, the mural shows no sign of flaking paint, the colors of Truffenyi and his ox as vivid now as the day they were mixed.

      A white arch reads:
May Alamhif grant us his protection and guidance on our journey back from death's void.
Your vision blurs as you pass through the arch, and you see...
A magpie ruffles its feathers from its perch upon the shoulder of a fatherly man. The pair stand at the near end of a blackened stone bridge, which arcs upwards to disappear into a shifting void. With a paternal smile, he nods as you pass through the arch.

      A black arch reads:
May Truffenyi protect us from Huldah's plots and schemes.
Your vision blurs as you pass through the arch, and you see...
A sharp-faced man glances at you and rubs his hands together, plotting as lightning flashes and the sharp tang of magic fills the air. A faenrae reaver cackles insanely behind him, while a weasel darts sinuously about. Glancing nervously over your shoulder, you pass through the arch.

The tunnel, while oft traveled by foot traffic between the Temple Towers, stubbornly clings to the hallmarks of under-use. Cobwebs drape from the ceiling like funerary shrouds, and a thin layer of dust settles and resettles across the floor. Torch sconces reach out from the tunnel walls, as if beseeching any passerby to stop and live for a moment in this lifeless place. You also see a rough walnut door.
