Welcome Joshua!!

Calvin gets a new "big brother": Chantilly's Willow Springs
I heard about Joshua on BDL last year. He was a 5-year-old beardie boy whose family couldn't keep him any more, and I was looking for a playmate for Calvin. He didn't have much training except in being rambunctious; just imagine a 70-lb puppy and you'll have the general picture. He has a few extra white markings that nudge him outside the AKC standard but give him a dashing look. He loves people, and is hard to restrain from jumping on everyone he meets. If he REALLY wants to make a good impression on you, though, he'll untie your shoelaces.

He hates to see anybody leave, and will bark you all the way to the door trying to change your mind. He will also bark when he's worried, or when he's happy, or when Calvin is barking and he doesn't know why. He likes to have barking conversations with dogs three blocks away. He wants to be a cuddlebug, but so far he still feels a little nervous about getting that close. Still, we've made lots of progress and I can now brush his head and his back without too much objection from him. (Then he goes to a real groomer to do the 'back forty'.)

The best part of the story is that Josh and Calvin have such a great time playing together. They play tug with the rope toy, they wrestle and chew on each other like a couple of huge puppies, and then they both try to hump each other at the same time. What beardie boy could ask for anything more??
