First The geographical Setting:

The image below shows part of the street we live on and our house.

In the image above the "address" in the word "Address" is on the house.
In the backyard there are 2 small out buildings, a small greenhouse and an even smaller storage shed.
The big white square below the house is our neighbors carport.

An out of focus image of the fireplace.
Half of the wall on the left is going, as is all of the wood paneling on the right.
You can't see it, but the paneling becomes (really bad) phony brick. This too will be removed.
The rest of the livingroom
The only room with "normal colors" The drapes went away.
The Kitchen. The counter top was so wide that you could only open the refrigerator door about half way.
It was cut it in half.

You can't see it in these images, but the refrigerator is an pale avocado color.
Another poor picture. In this case it shows the dinning area.
The sliding glass door leads to the back yard. The stairs go up to Margarita's apartment, and the door to the right leads to the garage.
The "phony" brickwall and archway on the right was removed.
The Master Bedroom. When give a choice between this room, and the larger other room, which became my room, Ann chose this one.
The yellow wall paper is gone.

The window was replaced with a sliding glass door, which will lead out to a deck.

The Master Bathrom
Before:
Two small bedrooms had the wall betwem them removed, and this became my room.

The images do not do justice to the VIBRANT colors these rooms were painted.
After:
Inside my bedroom/office looking towards the entrance hall.
The two rooms are now one, my office and bedroom. Sorry about the focus.
The common bathroom.
Notice yet more colors and a different wallpaper.
The stairway going up to Margarita's apartment..
The old owners did not have a handrail.
Margarita's Apartment, not showing the small common area.

No work was done up here, as Margarita liked the colors. The bottom right image shows the true color of the second room.
The backyard.
When we moved in.

2005
When we moved in.

2006.
We have started to work on the back yard. The images below were taken on September 3, 2006.
We still have a lot to do.
These pictures were taken from the deck.
Looking North and East.
Looking Southeast and South.
By brother decided we needed an arbor.
And I liked the glass bird.
We still have a lot to do.
Five more trees. (Three Redwoods and two Mission Figs, yum)
More bird feeders and garden art.

And finally, The Garage.

The previous owner had a machine shop in the garage, and it still smells of oil.
This is the only part of the house that looked better then.
It is full to the rafters today, with only a narrow walkway between the house door and the garage door.
Oh well, it will get better.
On March 10, 2006 it snowed a little. This was only the second time I have ever been where it was snowing.
