Welcome to the PROBLEM CHILD WEBPAGE. On this site you'll find everything there is
to know about the Midwest's Premiere AC/DC Bon Scott Tribute Band - PROBLEM CHILD - including a
little bit about the band and more.
Curious as to how we became the Premiere ACDC / Bon Scott Tribute in the Midwestern U.S. ??
.....it all started a few years ago in the Oak Lawn, Illinois backyard of a mutual friend of both Don and
Mark's by the name of Louie Caprio. Louie was a former mate of Mark's of many years, over cold bottles of Old
Style, Jack Daniels and MGD with a great deal of emphasis and discussion on forming the PREMIERE BON SCOTT
TRIBUTE in the United States. Don and I immediately 'clicked' as mates (I never met him nor heard him play
a note until our first practice) and off we were to create the band with Louie as our drummer. I inquired
as to our "Angus" and was told by Don that "I have that covered in my mate Stevie Z - 'THE CLOSEST DAMN GUITARIST YOU'LL
EVER HEAR to that of Angus Young". I immediately agreed (although I had never met Steve (aka Stevie Z)
nor heard him play a single lick until our first practice together). We scheduled our first practice together
and jammed as a 4 piece until the wee hours of the following morning with Stevie Z singing the vocal parts of Bon Scott.
We then knew beyond a doubt that we had the music down but still needed a lead vocalist so Stevie Z could 'go wireless,
crazy - and generally be the U.S. version of Angus Young'. In fact, our very first gig (opening for 'the leftovers'
at Sportstime in Bridgeview, Illinois was as a 4 piece band with Stevie Z singing lead vocals and wearing a headset
boom mic (wired and tied to his guitar cord - cumbersome to say the least).
Placing ads EVERYWHERE for a lead vocalist, we then began to schedule auditions. Our
first vocalist candidate to come into the studio was that of Mike (aka Uncle Mike) and upon his first lyrics sung
we all agreeed that his was indeed the closest voice to that of the late Bon Scott (there were
many who tried - even singing into our answering machines) but NO ONE AND I REPEAT NO ONE could even come close
to Uncle Mike) - In fact, we offered Mike the job during his audition - and the nucleus of Problem Child was born.
Lloyd Stephens joined us on drums and percussion (replacing eddy and then matt) and
and in 2009 Don Hendrick decided to retire from the front line musical scene and was replaced by Steve Biggs
and here we are.....
2009 NOTE - AFTER MANY YEARS OF PLAYING TOGETHER - PROBLEM CHILD HAS DECIDED TO TAKE SOME WELL DESERVED TIME

AUGUST 2010, AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION PROBLEM CHILD AND UNCLE MIKE HAVE DECIDED TO PART COMPANY.
JANUARY 2011 - PROBLEM CHILD is pleased to introduce DAVE RICHARDSON on lead vocals. No stranger to the
rock and roll scene, Dave comes to the band after 15 years of being the front man in the Gruesomes, as well as, Crown Vic.
He's got the sound and energy and drive Problem Child demands and is more than up to the task.
We are currently in the studio now working on our catalog and are also in the process of booking
shows so be prepared as Problem Child will soon be taking you on a ROCK AND ROLL JOURNEY you'll not soon forget.....
