Background

An alien formation has been spotted heading for Earth, and they sure don't look friendly! You, the mighty Keyboard Commando, have been chosen as Earth's sole defender. Armed with a small rocket ship MB-1, your mission is to destroy the alien task force of 50 aliens, before they destroy your ship or reach Earth.Sounds like a piece of cake, huh?

Your Ship

Your tiny ship MB-1 is very manouverable, and has some moderate defenses. The arrow keys can be used to move your ship up, down, left or right across the screen. The space bar key will fire a shot towards the enemy. If a shot hits an alien ship, then it kills the alien immediately. Be advised however, that your ship has a limited shot tracking capability, which means that you can have only one shot on the screen at a time. So once you have fired a shot, you cannot fire another one till the previous one disappears (either by killing an alien or disappearing off the screen). Your ship will take upto five hits from alien shots, before you are killed, so try to avoid anything they shoot at you. Also if an alien happens to touch your ship, you die instantly!

Strategies

• It's a good idea to concentrate on the lower rows of the alien formation in the beginning. Later on, go for the columns in the formation.
• If you move upwards close to the aliens, then your shots will reach the aliens faster. This will enable you to loose off more shots at the slimy creatures.
• Try not to miss any shots. Misses can be costly, because your ship cannot shoot until the previous shot is expended.
