Here are several views of our A&E Inst-A-Matic 3000 Awning

It is a self-supporting awning that stores compactly in it's own case that is attached to the van.   You simply pull the release tab, pull out the awning (it's spring loaded) until the lock pins on the support rods engage, then swing the legs down and lock them in place with hand-tightened threaded knobs.   It's easier to set up with two people, but one person can do it with some planning.   We pound tent stakes into the ground to anchor the legs, and tie them down when it's windy outside.
This model is no longer made, but the new ones are very nice too.   The awning was on the van when we bought it (lucky for us), and we use it constantly.   If you spray it with water repellent once or twice a year it sheds water without any problems.
This type of awning can be found at most RV supply stores such as
Camping World or stores like it.

It's thin and goes with the lines of the van.

You can see how thin it is.

A colorful awning.

You can see the support rods for the awning.

Headlight Covers

These clear plastic covers snap in place without any additional fasteners.   They are very durable and don't seem to affect the quality of light that comes from the headlights.    They are available from Go-Westy and Bus Depot for around $40.   If you have ever had to buy a new headlight for your van you will appreciate the benefit of these covers.
