To the Ozarks we go……...

May 2003

All packed up and on our way to Table Rock Lake, Missouri.   It's in the Ozarks in case you haven't already figured that out.   Our
custom roof rack works out great for hauling our kayak, and our new 15" wheels and 225/70R15
Michelin SUV Cross Terrain Tires are perfect for the van.  Crosswinds barely affect it, they are
quieter and they ride better than our old 14" wheels and tires.   Even with the high output bulbs in the stock headlights (with relay kit), it's still nice to have our Hella driving lights at night.   They work great.

One of the many beautiful sunsets we witnessed on our trip.   This was at a rest stop in southern Alabama.   It was a great trip because we weren't on an exact time schedule, we could stop when we felt like it and take time to enjoy areas we might have otherwise driven by.

This was in the mountains of the Ozark Forest in Arkansas.   We had seen all kinds of signs for this place on the way up the mountain, when we got there it was this small building that sold candy, knick-knacks and assorted tourist junk.   I just had to get my picture taken by the sign.   This was almost as good as when I had my picture taken at the "Road Kill Café" on Moosehead Lake in Maine.   The best part about that was their sign, it was a cartoon of a raccoon being run over by a truck tire, yummy!
