The House
Built around 1860 and a “Sister House” to the
brick house two miles down the road, local legend says both
houses were on the Underground Railroad. Experience the
Illinois history for yourself at this historic farm house.
Enjoy your breakfast in the kitchen or outside on the deck.
Relax in the sitting room or under one of the many shade
trees outside.

Master Suite
This room is special, with queen
bed, armoire,
fireplace, bookcase, and its own private bath with whirlpool tub. If you want to really enjoy
your visit to the country, open the windows at night and listen to the owl
hooting or coyotes yipping. Although the house has central air, there is
cross ventilation and a ceiling fan, which many guests find relaxing.
Second floor, queen bed, private bath, local phone line, satellite
television. |

Cowboy and Indian Room
Designed for young adults because it
is smallest of the bedrooms, this theme focuses on three famous frontiersmen
originally from Illinois — Wyatt Earp, Wild Bill Hickok and Bat Masterson.
They all knew one another, rode for the Pony Express, were army scouts, &
western marshals. A Navajo pictorial blanket hangs over the bed. Many
books and TV western DVDs for young and old to enjoy. Second floor, full
bed, shared bathroom next door, satellite television. |

Pink Room
Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, born in
Arcola, Il., Mark Twain memorabilia, and Colorado pictures, which are found
throughout the house, decorate the ladies’ room along with white queen-sized
iron bed and rose patterned wallpaper. Independent and pioneer women
are the subjects of many stories in the bookcases. Second floor, queen bed, shared bathroom
across the hall, local phone line, satellite television. |

Zanzibar Room
This downstairs bedroom has an exotic
feel with a queen bed, black lacquer furniture, and Egyptian décor. It is ground floor
level and requires a walk down the hall through the sitting room to the
bathroom. First floor, handicapped-accessible, queen bed, bathroom down
the hall. |

Hereford Bathroom The Hereford
bathroom is on the second floor and is shared between the Pink
Room and the Cowboy and Indian Room. This bathroom is one
of the most unique rooms in the house, with its whiskey barrel
sink, leather toilet seat cover, etched shower door and
custom Hereford tiles. It reflects our love
of Hereford cattle and is dedicated to the memory of the owner's
sister Marilyn. The remodeling project is almost
complete. All that's left is to put up historic pictures
on the wall! |
