New Communications Tool in September!
Brethren, our lodge has advanced significantly over the past 2 years to improve communications.  With noted success using e-mail and our award winning website with now over 5,300 hits!!  In September, we will start using a new technology called Phonevite.  Phonevite will allow a lodge officer record one message and automatically deliver it at a scheduled time to the membership's home phone.  Primarily, it will be used as a reminder about a meeting, but it will be incredibly useful in the event of a sudden emergency or if their is a Masonic funeral.  We will as always send the Trestleboard meeting notice via email or mail.  Phonevite will be a helpful reminder starting in September.

The Lodge Grapevine...whispers of events & happenings about our Lodge

??? What's happening in the back of the Lodge?   Curious wires, fixtures about and goings on.  Looks like someone is working hard for our lodge.  I heard a rumor that the room will be ready by July!  Check out the great progress.   I think Brother Bryant deserves a great big applause and thank you!!!

Archived Lodge Announcements...old news is good news!

LODGE DUES INCREASE APPROVED!  Effective January 1, 2008, Barboursville Lodge dues increase to the new level approved by the Barboursville Brethren.  Feel free to contact the Worshipful Master or Secretary for more information.  All Brothers are encouraged to submit their dues when billed after January 1, 2008.

Monthly Lodge Training Night!  Beginning on January 14th, there will be a regular monthly meeting scheduled the Monday after the Stated Communication.  The Lodge Training Night is for all Lodge brethren, and especially Lodge officers.  We will have time to work on ritual, study Masonic education and for the new committees to meet.  Remember, the First Monday following the Stated at 7PM!

^^^New Communications Project Underway!  A project that will mirror the Lodge's current efforts to connect the Brethren via e-mail is launching.  In the same manner, we need to connect our Masonic Widows to the activities/dinners of the Lodge.  Contact Brother Flint Engleman (434.981.3014) if you know a Masonic Widow of Barboursville Lodge that has an e-mail address.

BARBOURSVILLE LODGE EMBROIDERED SPORT SHIRTS FOR SALE!!!  Great looking, great quality navy blue shirts embroidered with a gold square & compass and Barboursville Lodge No. 112.  Only a few left with limited sizes in medium only for $30 each.  Purchase a shirt at the next Stated Communication or Lodge Work night.  First come, first served basis!

NEW LODGE WINDOWS INSTALLED!  We are glad to announce that our newly purchased, insulated windows have been installed by Window World.  The windows have already made a noticeable improvement to the interior warmth of the lodge, and soon to be reallized energy savings.  And they are a tremendous, aesthetic improvement inside and out, as well!

***Lodge Landscaping Project Complete!  Wow!  Our exterior Lodge and parking area have been greatly enhanced by 28 new trees & shrubs.  The landscape was designed to give the Lodge better curb appeal, better community image by streetscaping and provide a buffer for the new flagpole.  The design is all based on Freemasonry!  Ask Brother Engleman for how the design applies to our craft.  PLEASE be careful when pulling in and out of the parking lot. "Brother George Washington would not like one of his new Cherry trees run over!":-)

+++  Help build our Lodge's capital improvement fund!  You can honor yourself or memorialize a Brother by purchasing an engraved brick with the Brother's name of your choice.  Each Brick is $100 with the proceeds going directly to the Barboursville Lodge No. 112 Capital Improvement Fund.  Complete the Brick Campaign brochure located on the Lodge Secretary's desk.

***  Have you noticed all of the great enhancements to the Lodge???  Wow, Brothers, do we have a nice Lodge!  From new carpet & vinyl, new Lodge room furniture, newly painted Lodge & Ante Rooms, new lighting fixtures, new exterior landscaping & signage, new lighted U.S. flagpole, new aprons and even a new interior Masonic flag & banner.  If you haven't been to Lodge lately, please come to re-kindle fellowship and see all of the exciting enhancements!

###  Lodge website receives it's second Masonic award in 2007!  The "La Fraternite' Award" was bestowed to our website without the usual application process.  This award has more stringent critertia than others.  It requires certain Masonic content, resource links, smooth navigation tools and dynamic design concepts.  The award was presented on April 20, 2007.  Webmaster Brother Engleman acknowledged the award was another step towards our Lodge advancing itself in the community and connecting to our Brethren.
