BARBOURSVILLE LODGE LOCATED AT 5458 GOVERNOR BARBOUR STREET

Historical Location

Since 1887, our Lodge has been founded in Barboursville.  We are located in historic Orange County, Virginia.  Our Lodge is just minutes away from Montpelier, the home of President James Madison, and Montebello, the birthplace of President Zachary Taylor.

The cornerstone to the original Lodge was placed on September 12, 1916.  Due to a devastating fire to the complete Lodge building, the Lodge was erected at its current location.  The cornerstone of our current Lodge was laid on August 13, 1920.

Barboursville Lodge Charter

Chartered by the Grand Lodge of Virginia on December 14, 1887, as Barboursville Lodge No. 112 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.

On that date, the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, Most Worshipful William F. Drinkard signed our charter.  The Grand Secretary, William B. Isaacs, notated that this was a duplicate charter due to a major fire in the original Lodge building.  The first Worshipful Master for Barboursville Lodge was Rowland F. Hill.  Brothers William P. Hill and James F. John were the first Senior and Junior Wardens, respectively.  The Worshipful Rowland Hill and the Wardens also signed the Charter with Grand Master William F. Drinkard.
