These pages are a result of research and work I have done on the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway (variously abbreviated SAAP and SAP) in support of an HO scale model railroad that is currently under construction. It is therefore not - and is not intended to be - taken as authoritative. So far, I have done no original work in this field, and this is merely a compendium of existing resources.
I have quoted and reproduced from a variety of sources. In all cases, I feel that this comes under the doctrine of fair use as defined in U.S. copyright law, especially as the sources are invariably out of print and I gain no monetary benefit from their reproduction. If someone -- like the lawyers of the copyright holders -- does not agree with this, please drop me a line at mashelley at earthlink (dot) net.
The Prototype -- This link takes you to a short history of the SAAP, and some information about their routes, cargoes, motive power, and rolling stock. There are also links to other sites which generally have more detailed information.
The Layout -- Information about the HO scale layout of the SAAP line through Shiner, TX which I am currently building. And yes, it will include the brewery. Also information about what models are currently available, construction techniques, some general DCC data, etc.
