This experience combines with my credentials [see below], life-acquired wisdom and personal values, to give my practice its unique flavor.

VALUES

I prefer to work with thoughtful people who want to use their resources to create more meaningful lives. Helping others move beyond the pain of anxiety, depression, isolation, phobias and trauma is deeply satisfying to me. It is a great pleasure to work with those who  struggle to overcome the internal and external constraints which prevent them from realizing their potential.

OLD-FASHIONED HELP

I don't offer promises of "quick easy fixes" because I know that effective therapy requires three interrelated things:

  • TIME
  • TRUST
  • TOTAL CONFIDENTIALITY

As a psychologist I know :

  • The sometimes searing reality of emotional pain
  • That sometimes people become numb to shut out the pain.
  • You can create a different future.
  • Skills for successful living can be learned.
  • Change can be difficult.
  • How you handle your anger probably determines your life's story.
  • Broken hearts hurt as surely as broken arms or legs, and CAN hurt more.
  • What your friends see on the outside is often quite different from what you feel inside.
  • You can be very lonely in a crowd.
  • Individuals can grow and change.
  • You do not have to be a prisoner of your past.
  • You do not have to live in shame.
