It all
started about a week after my birthday when I got an envelope advertising The West and the Marlboro Ranch. When I opened the
envelope there was a card inside that said: Happy Birthday You And A Friend Are Going To The Marlboro Ranch On Us!! There
was also a phone number along with a confirmation code on the card too.
We call in the same day we got the card in
the mail. We didn't believe it until we called in and asked a lot of questions. I mean a lot!! We also call just about everyday
just to see if this wasn't a joke. Once we got our packets and plane tickets from them we knew it was for real!!
Our favorite
thing was the dog sledding because we never got to do anything like that. It was really a one in a life time thing to do.
The dogs were great and friendly. Over all it was just one of the greatest activities to do.

We went
to Yellowstone and saw elk, bison (Buffalo), a mule deer, some hot spring sites, and learned some historical facts about Yellowstone.
We went snowmobiling around the mountains. I started out driving a snowmobile myself but ended riding with a guide
because I couldn't keep up with the group. Reason for that was I was just learning how ride and it was really hilly so I wasn't
used to that and going as fast as everyone else. So I ended up riding with a guide. That was only a half day ride because
it was learning the basics of the snowmobile and riding and it was maditory to do before we went on the full day ride. We
also had the choice of going a full day of snowmobiling which we decided not to do because I didn't think that it was that
fun. I regret not going on the full day ride because you got to ride up to a cabin and have some snacks and drinks.
Next
we went tubing. It sounded fun but then the staff said that you can get up to 35 miles per hour going down this hill. It still
didn't bother me when I heard that so we still decided to do it any way. When we got to the top of the hill I freaked out
and decided not to go.
There was dog sledding which was really fun. We both got a chance to drive the sled. When I
was driving the sled I almost tipped the sled but I didn't because I leaned the opposite way to prevent that from happening.
That's what the instructors said to do anyway. When I was sitting in the sled and my boyfriend was driving I had to kinda
look down or away because the dogs kick up a lot of ice and snow.
We were signed up for skiing but decided to cancel
because it extremly early in the morning and plus we never skied before so we weren't going to risk it. So we ended up spending
the entire day taking pictures of the place since we didn't get a chance to.
Another one of the activities for everyone
there was someting called the Polar Bear Party. We got to ride on a horse drawn sleigh. When we got there, there were three
big fire pits that were lit. They also had some food and drinks there and got to make smores too.
Ice fishing was
another activity we did. We did ice finshing twice becuase the first time we went we didn't catch anything. The second time
we went ice fishing I finally caught a fish. It was a 13-inch Cut Throut Trout. There were only 2 people that caught
a fish and that was me and another person.

The Clark
Room is the room we stayed in. We don't have any pictures of the room because we really didn't think of taking pictures
of the room. I wish we did though because the room was really nice. You also had a bathroom in your room you stayed
in. The bathroom was neat because all the fixtures were done in the old west style. There was the cast iron bath
tub, the pull chain to flush the toilet, all the floors were done in a old wood style, the sink was done in a copper metal
style, and all the pipe fixtures were done in a brass metal style.
We went
in March 11-15, 2004. There wasn't really a lot of snow when we went. Just enough to be able to do all the activities
they have for us. Except tubing which was canceled a few times. Of course when we went tubing it wasn't.
Also when
we were there they feed us breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was great and if we didn't like anything they served
they would fix us what ever we wanted. All the meals we had were really good so we didn't have to ask them to make us
anything specific. They even had drinks for us like pop, beer, mixed drinks only no shots, water, coffee, juice, milk,
ect. What ever we wanted. Some foods that we had were bison burgers, elk tenderloin, two different kinds of salad
each day, cornish game hens, chicken, potatoes, corn, other vegetables, bacon, eggs, breakfast burritos, sausage, pancakes,
cereal, toast, and some other things too.
