Now in it’s third year, the UNCG New Music Festival has taken the name Shake it Up! The Festival will take place on campus October 12-14, 2006 featuring composers from North and South Carolina.
Shake it Up! concerts will include works by John Fitz Rogers and Reginald Bain (University of South Carolina at Columbia); Scott Lindroth (Duke University); Lawrence Dillon and Michael Rothkopf (North Carolina School of the Arts); Edward Jacobs (East Carolina University); James Paul Sain (University of Florida); Allen Anderson and Stephen Anderson (UNC Chapel Hill); Karel Husa and Ben Johnston (new music legends, residing in North Carolina).
Performers on the Festival will include the UNCG Chamber Winds, Contemporary Chamber Players, clarinetist Christopher Grymes, marimbist Scott Herring, saxophonist Susan Fancher and the Red Clay Saxophone Quartet.
