Phil
and
I
met
up
Saturday
morning
to
go
look
at
Grave's
Creek
in
Alabama
.
Graves
is
known
for
holding
trees
due
to
it's
small
watershed,
also
I
was
wanting
to
try
out
a
backpack
setup
for
cutting
trees
out.
The
backpack
has
an
extra
chain,
sparkplug,
bar
oil,
files,
bar
adjustment
tool,1
quart
of
extra
gas,
gloves,
earmuffs,
and
chainsaw
chaps.
We
figured
it
weighed
in a
a
little
over
60lbs.
A
manageable
weight
for
sure.
With
us
being
in
our
third
year
of
drought
down
here,
tree
cutting
has
almost
become
a
sport,
it
helps
us
get
more
quality
runs
in,
under
a
smaller
window,
most
of
our
rains,
are
flashes
and
you
don't
have
a
big
window
to
boat
in.
With
Graves
open,
its
manageable
to
run
Graves,
(the
big
two)
Big
Scirum,
and
Austin
Creek
in
one
day.
By
doing
that
they
go
up
in
difficulty
,starting
with
Graves
and
ending
with
Austin,
so
you
have
plenty
of
warm-up
for
some
nice
runs.
For
those
who
don't
know
Graves
....it's
a
easy
hike
in,
and
you
drive
right
up
to
the
big
one...so
this
was
a
good
place
to
work
out
the
kinks
on
the
backpack
set-up

The Saw setup worked great, and now were ready to tackle some remote runs,
and looking to clean up some trees on Sand Mountain now.
