"Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Aquila Smith
ten pounds, five shillings and six pence specie agreeable to the Act
to adjust the Debts due from this State per Account passed. -
Commissions issued to Abell Grace appointed first Lieut, Jonathan
Cockin second Lieut - Vincent Price Ensign of Capt John Dorhorty's
Company - William Rose second Lieut of Captain Richard Bruffs
Company - Samuel Thomas Captain in the room of John Thomas
junr, Elisha Stewart first Lieutenant, Charles Walker Benny second
Lieut. - Richard Johns Capt in the room of Nathaniel Cooper, Daniel
Lambden first Lieutenant and Nicholas Loveday second Lieutenant -
belonging to the fourth Battalion of Militia in Talbot County and
also to William Lambden appointed Captain in the room of George

Council met. Present the same members as on yesterday
except Mr Nicholson.
Copy of Letter No 105 was sent to Brigadier General
Hooper, Copy of No 106 to Committee of Observation for
Dorchester County, and Copy of No 107 to the Deputies of
this Province in Congress.
The Council appointed Christopher Richmond Esquire Pay-
master to Colonel Smallwood's Battalion of Regular Forces.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Benjamin Ogle Esquire twenty five Pounds five Shillings for
1010 lb Lead.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Grace twenty two
Pounds nine Shillings for the Carriage of Powder & Arms
from Philadelphia to the Magazine near Capt. Tootles.
Commissions issued to the following Officers of a Company
in Kent County belonging to the Eastern Shore Battalion of
Militia for the flying Camp, to wit Thomas Smyth junr Capt.

Mr Williams from the House of Delegates deliver to the
Governor the following Resolve By the House of Delegates April 9th 1778.

Resolved That the Governor and the Council be empowered
and requested during this Session of Assembly to appoint and
Commission Militia Officers for Cecil, Harford, and Caroline
Counties or any other County where it may be Judged neces-
sary By order G Duvall Cl H. D. Thus endorsed, By the
Senate April 9th 1778 Read and Assented to By order R
Ridgely Cl. Sen.
Certificate given to Col Birkhead that it appears necessary
that he shall draw on the Eastern shore Treasurer for four
Pounds, fourteen Shillings and six Pence as per Account of
William Maynadier and for Six Pounds five Shillings as per
Certificate of John Bracco, Register of the Orphans Court on
Account of William Brinsfield a wounded Soldier in the first
Class of the 4th Batt of Talbot County.
