Hi all,
Well I left Amsterdam a couple days ago. My
Jo & Ivantraveling  companions left a
day earlier than I for Paris so Ivan (the
Australian) could catch his flight to Cairo.
I stayed an extra day and did laundry
and  walked to an outdoor flower market that was set
up on one of the canals. I was pretty exhausted.

I was going to spend the day in the Hague to visit my
mother's cousin's husband but I could not find a phone
book for the area and no one at home seemed to know
exactly where he was living. After wandering around the
city for a little while I headed towards the train station.
I decided to take the overnight train back to Paris. First
I needed to call my friend Josephine to tell her what was
up with my plans. The phones in Amsterdam only take
prepaid cards or credit cards. Since I did not want to
spend the money for a phone card for only one call I
used my credit card. The strange thing is the phone still
put a limit on how long I could talk. I called her twice. The
third time the phone wouldn't accept my card.

I freaked out because that is the only credit card I took
with me. I was worried that my credit card company put
as hold on my account as I was using it more than usual.
I wanted to call my card company to see what was going
on but I could not make a collect call to an 800 number.
I finally broke down and bought a prepaid card. These pre-
paid cards only give a couple minutes of phone time so I
called my dad so he could get the number the credit card
company gives for international collect calls. The credit
card company accepted my call and told me there was
nothing wrong with the card. I know it sounds petty now
but I was extremely worried about not being able to use
my card.
