The Whitbread is an around the world race and is widely respected as is the Ultimate Challenge in blue water racing. The America's Cup may get most of the attention, but this is where the real sailors work.
The International Sailing Federation has created a new set of rules for us to race by. Fortunately for us, they have posted the rules on their website. They also have the old rules and a conversion chart from old rules to new rules.
