GOSPA - THE MOVIE
Gospa is the magnificent true story of Fr. Jozo Zovko, a fransiscan priest in Bosnia, Herzegovina who was tortured by the
Communists for refusing to abandon his people.
GOSPA, which means "Our Lady" in Croatian, unfolds in Medjugorje in 1981, where six children insist the Blessed Virgin Mary
appears to them on a hillside. In a few short days, the village awakens not only to growing crowds eager to join the children
and pray in simple faith, but also to police
armed with dogs and determined to break up the multitudes of people.
Military leaders force the humble parish priest to a showdown equivalent to the classic line: "This town isn't big enough
for the both of us."
This film is dedicated to the 601 priests murdered during recent years in the former Yugoslavia.
