A Conventional Death

There are conventions for fans of comic books and science fiction novels and old-time radio programs.  This one takes place at a convention for fans of (fictional) detectives, so it features parodies of everyone from Nancy Drew to Dixon Hill (as played by Jean-Luc Picard) to Calvin to Sneaky Pie Brown.

One of the detectives has killed one of the others, and who better than a (fictional) detective to know all the ways to cover up and mislead the investigation?  The victim?  Who else... Marc Lynx.

“I do my detective work using an object-oriented paradigm,” said Alec Mallick, CyberTective.  “I use a ‘schoolroom’ metaphor, in which there are classes and objects, and an instructor provides messages to a class, giving it directions on how to work with an object.”  From there, things devolved into SmallTalk.
I could have sworn we had a vaccine for that.
