There are conventions
for fans of comic books and science fiction novels and old-time
radio programs. This one takes place at a convention for
fans of (fictional) detectives, so it features parodies of everyone
from Nancy Drew to Dixon Hill (as played by Jean-Luc Picard)
to Calvin to Sneaky Pie Brown.
One of the detectives

detective to know all the ways to cover up and mislead the investigation?
The victim? Who else... Marc Lynx.
I do my
detective work using an object-oriented paradigm, said
Alec Mallick, CyberTective. I use a schoolroom
metaphor, in which there are classes and objects, and an instructor
provides messages to a class, giving it directions on how to
work with an object. From there, things devolved
into SmallTalk.
I could have sworn we had a vaccine
for that.
(for Jeff Hines; d. December
26, 1997)
