MARCIA SANDMEYER WILSON STATE OF THE ARTIST LETTER 2005

Greetings of the season, dear family and friends, two months late (this is written February 6, 2005.)This photo of me, btw, was taken by my 4-yr old grandson.

I am still with the boyfriend-- 21 years this summer. This photo shows him reaching for something at my 50th reunion, Leonia High School class of 1954. He is probably trying to take away my ever-present camera.

Here is another photo of him. If you look closely you can see that he is feeding two dogs, Tanya and Mookie.

Here are Tanya and Mookie last November when the streets of Leonia were paved in gold.

Tanya is a Jindo and Mookie is a Jindo-Chow mix. I adopted them both from Teterboro Animal Shelter.

My "calling" continues to be painting, mostly at home, but I take classes twice a week to keep me stimulated. I also do a few outdoor art shows in the NYC area which are posted under "show schedule" on my home page. In the off season, I started painting dog portraits, which you can see by clicking on that name ("dog portraits") on my home page.

I have a new interest in toy trains, thanks to my 4-year old grandson. We have set up an N-gauge track in my living room, where it is safe from his little brother, who is almost two.

Here is my son Tom with his youngest.

Here are my daughters in a happy day last summer when one came from Hawaii, one from California and one from Leonia all got together with me.

Here is my son and his Beijing-born wife, Judie. If you look real close, you can see the boyfriend washing dishes in the background.

Here are two of my daughters last summer when we visited Niagara Falls together.

This is my youngest daughter and her dog. He was scheduled to be euthanized at the animal shelter in Hilo Hawaii because he was so sick, but thanks to antibiotics he is feeling much better.

My older sister and her husband visited for two days in January, returning from a cruise of the Nile. This photo was taken with my cell phone at a local Chinese restaurant.

My half sister celebrated the birth of her first granddaughter in January. Here is a picture of the happy family in Xenia, Ohio.

My teeth are still in my mouth, thanks to excellent dental care from my neighbor, the dentist. I took this photo with my pocket camera in February, 2005.

Well that about sums me up for another year. Life is still good.

Marcia
