Visiting Author Program

■  Treat your students to a visit from a working author/illustrator/publisher. Ms. Uhlig will speak with students about the art and craft of writing and illustrating books as well as the decisions she makes when choosing books to publish.

■  Students will learn about the writing process, starting with the seed idea and proceeding through the steps to create an actual story. Ms. Uhlig will discuss memoirs, poetry, and fiction along with the illustration process. Children will have a chance to see both the rough and finished artwork used in creating the book.

■  Questions are welcome and students may purchase books at a discount. Of course, all books are autographed and inscribed to the student!
