Wicking
clothes cotton is a killer on the trail, it gets
wet with sweat while hiking and then dries slowly leaving the
hiker with damp clothes in cooling temperatures which can lead
to hypothermia.
Rain Gear make sure it is rain proof and not rain
resistant. It is not much fun during a downpour to discover
that your clothes are wet because your rain gear did not do
its job.
Gloves, hat, & warm clothes - for higher elevations.
Even the nicest day can turn overcast, cold, wet and windy in
the afternoon especially at high altitudes.
Layers
Tevas - for river crossings, hiking boots or shoes.
BREAK IN YOUR HIKING BOOTS BEFORE THE
TRAIL NOT ON IT!
