Things we did

Here are pictures of some of the memorable sights from our trip.

Lots of these flowering trees on the Keys. Didn't

get the name. They are very pretty.

I am told by a viewer this tree is a Poinciana. (Thanks Carol)  It's very colorful and all over the Keys

Don't know what this is but couldn't pass it up

without snapping a pic.

Word is, this is B.O.'s seafood cart and not to be dismissed.  Highly recommended by the locals for the freshest Grouper sandwiches in town.

The Hogs Breath Saloon is akin to Cafe DuMonde

in New Orleans - Ya gotta go just once

This is a hoppin' place.  The food is only so-so but ya gotta go just to say you did it - kind of a KW rite of passage

Did You Know?

There's a "Sunset Celebration" every night in Mallory Square in Key West. Locals and tourists gather to eat, drink, buy crafts, listen to street musicians, and watch the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico.

View from the Hilton Bistro 245 where we had an

excellent lunch and watched parasailing

We just stumbled on to this restaurant while walking along the waterfront and ogling all the yachts.  The sandwiches were excellent and not at all expensive.  The yachts were expensive (Azimut Ultimate 85 is about $3 million).   I should have taken some pictures of them. The parasailing encouraged Ruthie to give it a try - photos to follow.
