Fried de Metz Herman
|
"It's fun! Don't be so serious." Dancers who attend Fried-for-All weekends, dances and workshops know that after her exacting directions, Fried wants beautiful dancing to be pure fun. Her love of the dance is clear, by both her joy at dances and the incredibly lovely choreography which flows from her. Fried's creativity is built upon a lifetime of study and experience in the world of dance. She began dancing and creating dances in her native Netherlands. As she moved to England and then the United States, she continued to choreograph, developing her unique style. In the past twenty-five years, she has published seven dance collections (an eighth is on the way) which have become staples of the English Country Dance repertory. the Bonds of Harmony includes both newer efforts along with older, previously unrecorded dances which have become favorites of the Greater New York dance community. The lush orchestrations and style of play exhibited here are concepts Fried had in mind when she created these wonderful dances. We hope that you will enjoy listening to them, dancing to them — and savoring Fried's genius. A companion booklet* of instructions for these dances is available. You may order the booklet or CD by clicking here for a PDF file Order Form. * Only a few booklets are left. Order now to be sure you get one!
