Breath Bustin Biscuits

Barkin' For Brownies

Homemade Liver Treats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 pound beef liver
Pre-heat oven to 350.
Liquefy liver in blender, add dry ingredients.
Grease cookie sheet. Drop teaspoonfuls of mixture onto cookie sheet and flatten with bottom of glass dipped in water and cornmeal.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Store baked or unbaked dough in freezer.

Magic Doggie Cookies
Unless you are cooking for 6 large dogs, like the creator of this recipe, you might wish to cut the ingredients by as much as a quarter.
4 pounds raw liver (I use chicken liver)
7 cups of regular flour
4 cups oatmeal (grind to a fine crumble in a food processor)
8 Teaspoons of chicken bouillon
1/2 to 1 cup of HOT water (to dissolve bouillon)
8 eggs, beaten
6 Teaspoons of garlic POWDER (not salt)
Read the whole recipe before beginning.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Line 2 jellyroll pans (these are larger than cookie sheets and have 1 inch sides) with wax paper, cut to fit the bottom only. Place the wax paper in the pan & then spray the wax paper with a cooking spray. Set aside & prepare dough.
Dissolve the bouillon in the hot water & set aside.
Process the liver until it is mush (or chop very, very finely).
Put the liver mush in a LARGE bowl and add the beaten eggs, garlic powder and dissolved bouillon. Stir this mixture until well blended.
Add to the wet mixture a little at a time:
1. Flour
2. Finely ground oatmeal
If you add the flour/oatmeal all at once, the mixture may ball up into a lump!
After the whole glop is thoroughly mixed, spread it out evenly into the prepared jelly roll pans.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or till baked clear through to the center.
Let the baked goodies cool in the pan a bit, then loosen the dough around the edges, turn the pan upside down onto a bread board, remove the wax paper, and cut into bait-sized squares. I then place the cookies into zip-lock storage bags and put them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. These cookies freeze very well also.
Hints: It is not necessary to food process the oatmeal, but the cookies are less crumbly that way. This recipe is easily adjusted to fit your needs...it makes enough for 6 dogs so you may wish to make more or less accordingly.
Play around with the amount of garlic and bouillon to your dog's taste, but be careful of the liquids--you don't want the mix to be soupy.

Doggie Treats from Stew Bones
Doggie Coolers
2 fresh beef (or other species) marrow bones, each at least 1 in long
water
1 cold beer
In about a 2 qt pan, put the bones, and add enough water to cover the bones. Bring water to a boil; continue to boil for at least 10 min. (More time is ok, for a richer broth.)
Remove bones, and return any beef marrow to the liquid, along with any meat that you can get off the bones. Cool the broth to room temperature. Pour liquid only into 2-4 ice cube trays. Chop up the marrow/meat/gristle into little bits, and put them into each section of the tray. Freeze solid.
Serve 2-3 cubes to your dog on a very hot day. (Not too many if you made the broth very rich with extra bones or lots of marrow.)
Drink the beer yourself, while your dog enjoys the doggie coolers.

1 to 2 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon ginger
Preheat the oven to the lowest setting, 150 to 170 degrees. Mix all ingredients and spread thinly onto a cookie sheet. Place in the oven and bake for two hours. Flea-Away Dog Biscuits
The flea repellent in these biscuits is the garlic. You can also try mixing a little raw garlic into your regular food.

1/2 cup yeast
1 teaspoon salt
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil or sesame oil

Alternately, add the flour mixture and the stock into the oil and garlic, beating until the dough is well mixed. Shape the dough into a ball. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to a 12-inch circle. Using a two-inch biscuit cutter, cut the dough into rounds. (Or use a cookie cutter with a dog-biscuit shape.) Transfer the biscuits to greased baking sheets. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until the biscuits are well browned. Turn off the heat and allow the biscuits to dry in the oven for several hours or over night. Store in the refrigerator or freezer.

1 cup chopped chicken livers, cooked
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine the flour and wheat germ or cornmeal. In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg with the oil, then add the broth and parsley, and mix well. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients a little at a time, stirring to combine. Fold in the chicken livers. The dough will be firm. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it briefly. Roll the dough to a thickness of 1/2 inch, and cut it into desired shapes. Place cookies one inch apart on greased cookie sheets. Healthy Dog Biscuit Recipes You Can Make at Home!
By David Gilmore

An overwhelming majority of people around the world own pets and most folks buy treats for their pets at one time or another. Some people own cats and buy cat treats, others own dogs and buy dog biscuits and chew toys. The one thing all of these people have in common is that they want their pet to have the healthiest food and treats possible! That’s why home made dog biscuits and treats have become so popular! Here is an excellent dog biscuit recipe that is all natural and is sure to satisfy the hungry hound in your home!

This dog biscuit recipe is very simple and can be put together by kids or adults. You start with a fourth cup carrots, three cups of parsley chopped up very fine, one forth of a cup of cheese, grated fine. A good tip is to make sure your dog likes the particular kind of cheese before you make the biscuits. Usually, mozzarella or Parmesan are the best to use.

Add 2 and three fourths cup of flour, and two tablespoons of olive oil. Add 2 teaspoons of baking powder so the biscuits will rise a little when you bake them and 2 teaspoons of bran so they are extra healthy for your pooch. The final ingredient is a half cup to a cup of water, but be sure not to add it until the rest of the ingredients are blended. Now we are all set for the final steps. Make sure that you have paid close attention to the recipe up to this point.

Make sure your oven is set to 350 degrees. Kids, make sure mommy or daddy take care of this part. You’ll want to use a cooking spray to lightly grease a baking sheet. Once all of the dry ingredients and the oil are mixed, slowly add the water until you have a moist texture. Knead the dough until it is uniform than roll it out with a rolling pin. Use a fun shape to cut out the biscuits and cook them for 20-30 minutes. Make sure they are fully cooled before you give them to your doggie!
