There are many kinds of madness in the world. We are each born
with our own kind of madness, just as we are born with our own kind of wisdom, of foolishness, of genius, of ignorance, of
cruelty, of compassion, and all the other qualities that go into being a human. But it seems we are far more willing to own
any of our other qualities, and pretend that the madness never exists.
Many of us fear the madness in ourselves and others. We fear
the lack of predictability and control. But if we learn not to fear the madness - if we believe that it can be,
not an overwhelming lack of control, but an unlimited ability to create, madness becomes a force of unlimited potential,
rather than a disease of destructive chaos.
If
you are afraid of your own madness, then you are afraid to be free.
