So you want to join the Leather Organizations Ring.
|
Step 1First, you need the code for the ring to put into your own page. The code is as follows: <!-- START: LeatherOrgRing HTML Code Fragment --> <CENTER> <TABLE WIDTH="100%" BORDER="0"> <TR> <TD ALIGN="CENTER"><A HREF="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=lthrorg;home" TARGET="_top"> <IMG SRC="lthrorglogo.gif" BORDER="0" WIDTH="113" HEIGHT="75" ALT="[The Leather Organization Ring]"></A> </TD> <TD ALIGN="center"><P><FONT SIZE=2>This <A HREF="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=lthrorg;home" TARGET="_top">Leather Organization Ring</A> site is owned by <A HREF="mailto:YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS HERE"> YOUR NAME HERE</A> </FONT></P> <P><FONT SIZE=2> [<A HREF="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=lthrorg; id=###;next" TARGET="_top">Next Site</A>] [<A HREF="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=lthrorg; id=###;skip" TARGET="_top">Skip Next</A>] [<A HREF="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=lthrorg; id=###;next5" TARGET="_top">Next 5</A>] [<A HREF="http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=lthrorg; id=###;random" TARGET="_top">Random</A>] </FONT></P> </TD> <TD ALIGN="center"><A HREF="http://www.webring.org/ cgi-bin/webring?ring=lthrorg;id=###;next" TARGET="_top"><IMG SRC="lthrorgnext.gif" BORDER="0" WIDTH="113" HEIGHT="75" ALT="[The Next Site]"></A> </TD> </TR> </TABLE> </CENTER> <!-- END: LeatherOrgRing Code Fragment -->
You can copy and paste this code directly into your web page. After you submit your site, you will be automatically e-mailed a customized Ring Code, that you can use as well. The Ring code must appear on the first page that a Ring user sees (with the exception of an age verification screen or an autoreload splash screen) or on a "Web Rings" page that is clearly linked from the first page.Please keep in mind that if the Ring code is located on a separate Web Rings or Links page, it would be much more preferable for the submitted URL (that is, the URL that people arrive at when navigating the Ring) to be the page which contains the Ring Code. A "Main Page" link could be then added to bring Ring users to the "front door" of the site. |
Step 2Next, you'll need to have the two graphics that go with the code:
Save the first one as "lthrorglogo.gif" and the second as "lthrorgnext.gif" in your main web directory. If you save the images into a different directory, you will have to change the Ring code to reflect that difference. |
Step 3Next, you're going to add your site to the queue. When you do, you'll be given a site ID number. Replace the instances of "###" in the code fragment above with that number (there are five such instances). Also, replace the all caps "YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS HERE" and "YOUR NAME HERE" sections with the proper info (your e-mail address and site name). As stated before, you will be e-mailed a copy of the Ring Code with the proper ID number and name information already included.
Right now, you need to actually add your site to the queue of sites waiting to be added. To do this, you use...
|
The Leather Organizations Ring site addition form.*The password allows you to later add others to the ring and modify your site information. |
Step 4After you enter your site into the queue, any current member of the ring can move your site into the Ring. You should e-mail a ring member and ask them to review your site and, if they think it's should be added to the ring, to add it. If you don't have a specific ring member in mind to e-mail, you can go to a random site in the Ring, and e-mail them from there. |
