We want to commend the Bexar County Master Gardeners for their outstanding display at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

Bexar County Master Gardeners Rock!

The Wild Kingdom ABC Garden was part of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service and Bexar County Master Gardener Exhibit at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. It was designed to teach children about different kinds of plants (perennials, annuals, cacti, succulents, vines, etc.) using a fun theme -- plants with animal names. The plants were arranged alphabetically so that young children could relate what they knew about the alphabet to plants whose names began with different letters.

After completing an extensive horticultural training program, Bexar County Master Gardeners provide educational information and volunteer in a variety of community service projects related to gardening. The Wild Kingdom ABC Garden was created by Kathy Martinez and Linda Patterson, members of class 41, with the help of many other members of the Bexar County Master Gardener organization.
