|Tick-seed (Coreopsis grandiflora)
Absolutely more attractive than its common name, this handsome perennial looks great in any sunny landscape bed. Mix it with Purple Coneflowers and Gulf Penstemons to add a carefree touch of bright yellow to the palette. In Spring, Tick-seed sends up multiple stems from a low rosette, each topped with nodding 2" daisy flowers. It is excellent in mass plantings or tall borders and even makes an attractive cut flower. This is one of our all-time favorites for reliable splashes of color over a long blooming period.
Tick-seed needs to be protected from browsing deer. They love to eat the budded stems.
